File Share is a program that allows you to exchange documents with your clients through a secure website. It is included as part of the Standard Site Builder subscription. By default, File Share includes 1 GB of space for storing documents. If needed, you can purchase additional storage space in increments of 8 GB.
To use File Share, you must have a paid subscription to Site Builder, and then enable File Share. If you choose to use File Share, you also may want to add a link to the File Share login page to your website. Adding this link will offer convenience for your clients. It also provides a way for you to present your Web services as an integrated whole.
Select Yes for the question Would you like to activate File Share?
If you want to display a banner on your site, select a banner style. The banner is a link that your clients can use to access the File Share login page.
If needed, enter or edit the text in the Display Message box. The text entered here displays when site visitors hover their pointers over the File Share banner on your website. If you did not choose to display a File Share banner, this step is not necessary.
Some types of eContent are modular. For those types of eContent, this option determines how much flexibility you have in determining where portions of eContent display on your website. In the case of File Share, there is only a single module, so there is no difference between these options.
To put a link to File Share on your firm's website, do one of the following:
Select the File Share code snippet to include on your website and do the following:
In the Snippets list, select File Share. The code snippet displays in the Instructions box to the right of the navigation bar.
In the Instructions box, select the code snippet, and then press Ctrl + C to place the code on your clipboard.
Paste the copied code into the code for the web page where you want File Share to appear.
If you chose not to include a Wolters Kluwer-provided File Share banner on your website, you must provide clients another way to access File Share. Your File Share address displays below the text box. Use this URL to create your own hyperlinked image or to include a text hyperlink on your site.
Once you enable File Share, your Site Builder administrator will receive an email with a link to the File Share site and information about creating a password. The administrator's credentials will be used to log in to File Share. Other users can be added by following the procedures described in the File Share Help.
