ECKHOFF AND COMPANY
History

History

Eckhoff and Company has been established for six decades. Founded by two members of a large regional CPA firm in San Francisco, it was known as Sleezer & Eckhoff when the office opened in downtown San Rafael in 1955. The partnership incorporated as Eckhoff Accountancy Corporation in 1983, with the partners becoming shareholders and board members. Chairmanship and executive committee membership are by election.  Our name changed to Eckhoff and Company (EAC) in October 2014.

EAC, its officers and employees are enthusiastic participants in programs for the betterment of the community. The corporation not only provides financial support for worthwhile causes and activities locally, but encourages its people to share and care with their personal abilities and resources.

Our people are active members of several Chambers of Commerce, Elks Club and various service clubs. We and our families take part in many youth-oriented programs; sports leagues, scouting, 4-H, FFA, Junior Achievement, as well as civic activities at schools and churches. Individuals have served on the boards of school districts, hospitals and organizations for advancing social services and the arts. The corporation itself is involved in public-issues forums, career counseling and the work of charities. We will continue to have a dynamic presence in the life of our community.

As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, EAC conforms to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. In addition we belong to the prestigious AGN International. We have access to the services and resources of other leading independent firms across the nation and internationally. This association matches the capability of the large multi-office accountancies, yet permits each firm to keep its character and unique approach in serving local clients.

EAC actively takes part in the work of CPA societies and our officers have been appointed to committees at the State and regional levels. This firm is continuously active with the Marin Estate Planning Council.

The affiliations are not simply credentials. The ongoing mutual education and interchange of ideas with other progressive CPA firms enables us to stay ahead with professional skills for the direct benefit of our clients.
